Isaia: Company Info

In 1957, Gianluca Isaia's grandfather founded a tailoring shop in Casalnuovo. This small town near Naples is known as the birthplace of tailors: in the 1950s, there were around 14,000 inhabitants, and almost half of them worked in tailoring. After the founder passed, the business was run by his three sons. After them, the third generation, Gianluca, with his sister and a few cousins. Together, they are responsible for the company's collections. In the 1990s, Isaia's line was very classic and almost nothing was made for export. Gianluca traveled extensively in America and noticed that there was a demand on the market for something which Isaia could make. The company line was modified and established as the current fusion of classic and fashion, which was welcomed with joy.

Isaia is an alternative to Brioni and Kiton for those who appreciate Italian suits. All products are hand made in the Neapolitan tailoring tradition. The soft, rounded shoulder line is distinctive. The fabrics are light and there is almost no structure in the chest. However, Isaia's cut is narrow and short, and the fabrics are also more colorful and patterned. This is what sets it apart from its closest competitors.
